Lauder Home

The Lauder Home is located in an established, quiet residential area. On the main level there is a large living room where there is a TV, stereo and video game system. Adjacent to the living room there is a large dining room and a bathroom off of the hallway leading to the kitchen. An office is next to the kitchen along with a pair of doors leading to a patio in the backyard. The upstairs level has the personal space for the Care Provider – a bedroom and a bathroom. In the basement there is a large recreation room and a bathroom. This adolescent girl home has three bedrooms for up to 5 children or youth.

Amenities: There are several parks and playgrounds nearby. There is an outdoor swimming pool, library, basketball, archery school, and recreation centers are readily available. Lauder house has access to a Behavioural classroom in addition to many other alternative school environments in addition to many schools in the area. There are clinical services in addition to Cultural and First Nations centers.

Trudy Home

Trudy Rd. house is a large detached home. On the main level there is a large living room with amenities for the children and youth to engage in. Off the living room there is a dining room area with a set of patio doors which leads to a large fenced in yard. There is a lot of room for children to spend time outside. There is also large patio dining set. Back in the dining room there is a large eat in kitchen with a small 2 piece bathroom, as well as a bedroom for the care provider. The basement has a large recreation room with a TV, board games, desk, and several books. There is also a large staff office. On this level there is also a laundry room and large storage room as well a 4 piece bathroom. Upstairs there are 4 large bedrooms for 5 youth in the home.

Amenities: The home is located in a great well established neighborhood with an abundance of schools, hospital a few mins away as well as a number of recreation centers. There are several recreational centers within the area which offer several programs such as swimming, soccer, karate, baseball and basketball. There is a library within walking distance, Fairview Library. There is also a skateboard park at Leslie and Cummer Ave. as well as the YMCA at Sheppard and Don Mills Rd.

Karen Road

The residence at Karen Rd in North York is a beautifully landscaped split bungalow with a brick exterior and fenced back yard located just off the Down Valley Parkway south of the 401. The residence sits on a corner lot and has a one and half car attached garage. When entering the house from the front door, the front entrance leads to a living room, dining room and kitchen. Access to the garage from in the home is accessible through the dining room. A few stairs up from the front entrance takes you to the upper floor where three big bedrooms with closets and big windows can be found. Also, on the upper floor is a full piece bathroom.

The mid-level can be accessed from the front foyer as well and leads to a carpeted recreational or family room with full sized windows. On this level there is a large bedroom with closet and windows. The hallway leading through this also has a closet for linens or others. A bathroom with a toilet and sink can also be found on this level.

From the mid-level, access to the lower level of the home can be found. There is a large recreational room, a laundry room with furnace and hot water heater and a full piece bathroom on this level.

Amenities: In regards to the home’s surroundings, Rene Gordon Elementary School is directly across the street from the home and has a large soccer field, park and tennis courts. George S. Henry High School can be found just down the street from the home and is in walking distance. A variety of places of worship can be found close to the home as well as grocery stores and medical centers.

Skopit Residence

The home is a large, split level home with 7 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.  Upon entering the home there is a small foyer.  Off of the foyer there is a living room with a t.v and sitting area.  Beside the living room there is an eat in kitchen.  There is also a pantry off of the kitchen that has two doors that lead out onto a large deck and a midsized fenced in backyard.

Off of the front foyer there are stairs leading up and downstairs.  Down the stairs there is a 3-piece bathroom as well as a large bedroom, laundry room and staff office.  Down in the basement there is a recreation room where there is another tv, games and sitting area.  There is also a storage room and furnace room.

On the home’s main level there is a large bedroom for 2 foster children and 2 single bedrooms as well.  There is a 2-piece bathroom as well as a large linen closet.  On the third level there is another 2-piece bathroom, the master bedroom and ensuite and 2 other bedrooms for the biological.  The third level of the home will be primarily used by the Care Providers for their family’s personal space.

Amenities: The Skopit residence is located in an established, mature and quiet residential area. There are several parks and playgrounds nearby. There is an outdoor swimming pool, splash pad, indoor swimming pool, library and recreation centre in the area. There is a nice park just at the end of the street. Several school and commercial shopping areas and other amenities are also nearby.

Steeles Ave. Residence

The home is located in an established, quiet residential area. This home has three bedrooms for 5 children. On the upstairs level there is a large master bedroom and ensuite for the Care Provider’s personal space. On the same level there is a 3 piece bathroom for the children. There are 3 bedrooms down the hall. On the main level there is a large living room where there is a TV, stereo and video game system. Adjacent to the living room there is a large dining room. There is a bathroom off of the hallway to the downstairs. Outside the bathroom there are the laundry facilities. There is also a good size kitchen. The staff office is beside the kitchen. There is a set of patio doors which lead to a large backyard. Living space- dining room, kitchen and office as well as a bathroom and laundry room on the main floor. In the basement there is another 3 piece bathroom for staff and a large recreation room. There are 3 other bedrooms in the basement which are currently used for storage. Resident bedrooms are all located on the second floor.

Amenities: There are several parks and playgrounds nearby. There is an outdoor swimming pool, library close by, recreation centers are readily available. There are also a couple community centres that offer swimming, skating, fitness and have a skateboard park. There is a Catholic Elementary School, Public School and a Secondary School in the area and there are counselling/assessment resources nearby.

Weston Road

This 3300 square foot large detached home has 5 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. On the main level there is a large living room with a TV/DVD. Off the living room there is an eat in kitchen with a door which leads to a small but functional back yard. There is a large porch as well as the back yard is fenced. There are also parking for 2 car in the lane way. In the basement there is a large laundry room where there is furnace, washer and dryer as well as a large deep freeze. A good sized recreation room can also be utilized by the children and youth, a storage room as well as a 3 piece bathroom. On the second floor there is a 3 piece bathroom, a small bedroom and 2 good sized bedrooms. There are 2 large bedrooms on the third floor. Rollo Home

This 5 bedroom home is a long term mixed modality, family modeled home for 5 co-ed youth. The Care Provider lives in the home and there is a Residential Youth Worker in the home for support.  The home is located in Ajax near the lake. On the main floor there is a living room, dining room, kitchen, 1 bedroom and laundry room. On the 2nd floor there are 4 bedrooms (master bedroom with an ensuite for the Care Providers), 2 double rooms and another bedroom and an additional washroom. There is a small but functional, fully-fenced back yard and deck.

Amenities: Public and Catholic schools (elementary and secondary) are in the area. The home is near the library, Community Centers, shopping center, pools, and parks. A hospital and medical clinics are also close by.

Watersdown Home

This four-bed mixed modality foster home is a large detached suburban home in North Whitby. On the main floor there is a living room, a family room, powder room, kitchen with small eating area, as well as a dining room. The upstairs has a master bedroom and ensuite bathroom for the foster parents, 2 bedrooms and 2 washrooms for the foster children and an additional bedroom. There is a finished basement with a laundry room, 2 bedrooms, a washroom, a living room and a kitchenette. There is a large backyard and a deck.

Amenities: Public and Catholic schools (elementary and secondary) are in the area. There are Community Centers, library, shopping center, pools, and parks close by. A hospital and medical clinics are close by.

Kiwanis Residence

Kiwanis residence is a large two storey detached home built in 2010 and situated in a newer neighbourhood. The home is beautiful and bright. It is minutes from shopping, recreation, great schools, parks, walking paths, and so much more. The home is well maintained with a spacious entrance way welcomes you to a bright foyer with a walk-in closet. The home is a 2,265 square foot single family home on a 43.96 ‘ x 108.27 acre lot with a brick finish on the front elevation and the remainder of the elevations in vinyl siding. There is a front porch and a deck off of the back of the house. The yard is fully fenced and backs on to the neighbourhood park. The main floor consists of a formal living room, dining room, comfortable family room highlighted by a gas fireplace and cathedral ceiling. There is also a den on the main floor which will be used as an office. There is hardwood throughout the main floor principle rooms.The second floor consists of four spacious bedrooms, two of which have walk -in closets, all complimented by warm and cozy carpeting. There are three single bedrooms and one master bedroom. The master contains a five piece en-suite and there is also a four piece washroom which is accessed by the 3 bedrooms. The second floor also has conveniently located laundry with storage and a folding table.The basement is fully finished with a “true” 5th bedroom. It has a welcoming appeal and is kept in very good condition. The basement contains a family room, various storage areas, and a 3-piece washroom. The basement also contains a sensory space.

Program: Storey Homes has developed this specialized program in collaboration with Ottawa Children’s Aid Society, exclusively for Ottawa CAS’ children and youth. The program offers a short-term and longer-term placement for children and youth primarily between the ages of 10-18, however, referrals will reflect the program’s flexibility as placements will be based on matching children and youths based on developmental needs. All young people must be ambulatory, regardless of their cognitive, emotional, social and/or behavioural needs. Due to the complex needs presented by the referrals, the demands of this type of program are too much for a traditional parent model foster home. We offer a family like environment with the Foster Parent role and full-time Staff support. This allows the Foster Parent the breaks they need to be able to maintain their own healthy lifestyle and still provide a family like environment. This model strikes a balance between providing the youth with consistency and having the caregivers manage their self-care and personal family needs.

Tawney Residence

Tawney residence is a 6 bed parent model receiving/assessment group home for teen girls. The residence is a large two storey family dwelling, situated in a mature neighbourhood in Central South Ottawa. The home is part brick and siding with a wood car port. There are tall hedges along both sides of the home and a large driveway. The property has a large yard in the back which is completely fenced in and surrounded by hedges. The main floor consists of an office, a two piece bathroom, a bedroom with a full bathroom, a laundry room, a door to the back yard and a door to the unfinished basement. Up four steps are the 1st floor which contains a living room, dining room and kitchen. The upper floor contains a full bathroom, 4 bedrooms, and a three piece ensuite bathroom. The Care Provider’s bedroom is on the main level. There are two double rooms and two single rooms on the upper floor.

Amenities: Schools are within walking distance. There are places of worship close by. There are three community centres in the vicinity. There is a Shopping Centre, playgrounds and various recreation activities available. There is a medical clinic is located in the Elmvale Acre Shopping Centre.
